Cygnum was established in 1996 following a research program that identified timber frame as the superior building system for the 21st century.
The company was set up originally as an associate of Palfab Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading processors and distributors of sawn softwoods since 1976. Since its inception therefore, Cygnum has had a solid reserve of timber experience and know-how to draw on.
Today, Cygnum employs almost 200 people and operates from an ultra modern, purpose-built factory in Macroom, Co. Cork. The company has completed over 2,000 projects nationwide and, as more and more developers embrace timber frame as their principal construction method, Cygnum’s growth continues apace.
   
   
At Cygnum we take your architects drawing and we supply the following.
We supply and install:
- A soleplate fitted to your foundation. This allows us to check the dimensional accuracy of the foundation.
- External wall panels with 140mm stud framework, 9mm OSB3 sheeting and breather membrane factory fitted
- Internal wall panels with 90mm stud framework with studs at 400mm centres.
- Mid floors in loose joists or panels.
- Roof structure, including trusses, purlins, structural bracing and fascia backing board.
- Gable ladders to carry your roof over the external leaf of the house.
- Felt and battens are a standard supply only item. We also offer a supply and fitting service.
